I am intensely interested, and, as my husband and I are just growing comfortable with this and slowly discussing what is important to us and what we want to achieve, I'm in no rush to ask questions just yet. I WILL look forward to this book though. Can you tell us anything about the details of it becoming available? Cost, perhaps?

I am excited about the book and I appreciate your work to provide sound advice to all of us. Thanks

Are you taking preorders for the book? I'd like to reserve 15 copies for my church group in advance, if I could.

This outline for boot camp sounds suspiciously similar to the one that Jim and I had received and used - wonder why that is? Hmmm...

I deleted the first comment b/c blogger posted it in some form of alien language that was a mix of Klingon and Martian! It wasn't b/c I was saying something rude or inappropriate! Blogger doesn't like me commenting lately :o(

we have been talking about a boot camp and have decided it is something we need to do. we will be looking forward to your book.

@Yoake - I'm happy to hear that you're interested in the book. It makes me feel better about writing it when I know people will appreciate it.

I'm still working out the details. I just started writing it last night, and even the idea of it is still in it's infant stages. I can tell you it isn't going to be some 300+ page novel by any stretch, but it'll be a very thorough, in-depth written book on Domestic Discipline Boot Camp.

The cost will depend on the length of it. If I had to throw out a ballpark cost today, I would say it will likely cost somewhere in the neighborhood of the $8-$15 range, but I don't know an exact cost this early. When I know for sure, I'll put it in this blog post.

@Heather - Thank you so much. It's nice to know the advice is helpful to people, and appreciated. Thank you so much for your support.

@Grace - Unfortunately I'm not taking pre-orders at this time, but that may change. If it does, I'll let you know. Thank you for your interest in the book!

@Christina - Yeah, I'm not sure why that is. Perhaps because I wrote it? :)

And don't worry about the comment. You and Blogger clearly have some issues to work out. Communication is key, Christina. Lol.

@Kendra - Wonderful! I'm happy to hear that you're interested in the book. I'm sure you'll find boot camp difficult, but very rewarding at the same time.

My husband and I have been trying to begin a DD relationship for about a year now. It's been tough going, parting because of our age difference (I am 20 years older) and partially because of his natural personality, which is very nonconfrontational. For my part, I feel frustrated and that I'm carrying the weight of the relationship. I crave a strong leader - I don't want to be HoH! Boot camp seems like it would be a great 'reset' for our relationship, to set us both firmly in our roles

(tech note: I've signed up to follow this site as 'newlytaken', but blogger won't let me post under my own account, so I'm anonymous for now!)

Will you be offering a web download.. Where once you write the book we can down load it and print it out?

Learning Domestic Discipline said...

@Kendra - Yes, it'll be an eBook in a PDF file that you'll be able to download. I'm exploring the idea of making it available in paperback as well, but it will be more costly to do so. Still working out the details with it all.

@newlytaken - I agree that boot camp would achieve what you're looking for. I want to say, however, that boot camp isn't for new couples, or Domestic Discipline beginners. You said you've been "trying to begin a DD relationship for about a year now", so it sounds like you have SOME experience, but I just wanted to throw that in. If you're just starting out with DD, I wouldn't recommend jumping right into boot camp right away. In the end it's up to you and your spouse, of course.

Thank you for your comment and I wish you the best!

Respecting Mistress said...

Clint, we're both eager to read your Boot Camp techniques book. We've been using domestic discipline for some time now but are obviously still finding our way and an extended Boot Camp sounds just like what we may need to cement our FLR. Mistress, if anything, is a little lenient with me at times and I am way too controlling and headstrong. We have our goals to alter things but can Boot Camp really help achieve a big change like this or is it just of brief, intense period before reverting to old ways?

Learning Domestic Discipline said...

@Respecting Mistress - Boot Camp is intended for long term results, but that isn't to say EVERY couple achieves long term results after boot camp. Obviously every couple is different. There have been couples who have had to go through boot camp more than once, albeit years between boot camp sessions. Long term results from boot camp? Yes. Permanent results for the duration of the marriage? Doubtful. I think it's human nature to eventually revert back to old ways over time, which is just another reason why I feel Domestic Discipline is so important in a marriage.

In comparison to some of the DD boot camps I've researched and read about, my boot camp recommendations are pretty mild in all honesty. I simply can't justify going through a boot camp period for weeks - or months - at a time, and I certainly can't recommend some of the things some people feel is appropriate to do to their spouse during boot camp. At some point morals have to kick in, and the Learning Domestic Discipline version of boot camp has boundaries. That's probably why results aren't permanent, but again, in my opinion there has to be a line drawn at some point.

Thank you so much for your comment. All the best to you!

once the ebook is downloaded can the document be printed?

Learning Domestic Discipline said...

@Anonymous (December 5th 10:28 AM) - The most honest answer I can give you is that I'm not certain. I BELIEVE it can be printed after download, but I'm not 100% sure. Perhaps someone who has purchased the book could offer their input on this.

Sorry I'm not more helpful.

I've been meaning to give this comment for some time now. Doing a boot camp was one of the best things we've done in a long time. My wife has been doing an amazing job with her spending and budgeting issues since the camp experience. I was beyond frustrated with trying to get her on board with our shared goals and the camp, particularly the homework, helped tremendously. I'm very proud of her for the work she's done and wish to thank you for the idea and help around tailoring it.

@Jim - It was my pleasure, Jim. I'm so happy to hear things have improved for you and Christina. Boot camp really does help, and I'm very thankful for you giving your feedback about your personal experience with it here on the blog. I'm glad it helped you both out.

All the best to you both.

my husband set me a boot camp day last week it lasted from 6 am to 6 pm. basically he set me tasks that i had to perform with punishments if i failed to meet the targets. The tasks were mainly exercise sessions and road runs until i gradually got more tired and started to fail the sessions. The punishments then started ...cold showers...spanking and finally the cane!

Learning Domestic Discipline said...

@Anonymous (June 28th 12:25 AM) - That's an interesting approach to boot camp, but if you both consent to it and find it beneficial to your marriage, then so be it.

Thank you for sharing your experience. All the best to you.

I ordered your book on amazon and I cant read it ... it came in a weird format :( im interested in reading it and putting it to use

Learning Domestic Discipline said...

Hi Katie,

Are you trying to read it on your computer, or your Kindle? I'd be happy to help you but I need to know a little more information first. The Amazon edition is only for Amazon Kindles. To read it on your computer, or another format (iPad, iPhone, etc.) you will need to order it off of Lulu. If you would rather email me (contact@learningdd.com) I'd be happy to help you out.
