Montly Recap: June 2014

In terms of new articles, June 2014 was the busiest month we've ever had at Learning Domestic Discipline.  In addition to our regular posting schedule, we took part in a month long challenge of writing one post a day for each letter of the alphabet.  All in all, there were 37 new articles throughout the month of June!  That's a lot of stuff to recap!  If you missed any of it, here's an overview of everything added to the LDD blog this past month.
June 1st - June 27th: Rather than list out all 26 of the personal articles we wrote in the Spanking From A-Z Challenge, we'll simply provide this link that takes you to them all.  That's a lot easier. :)
June 2 - Mailbag Monday: Week 47 - We answer questions about getting started with domestic discipline, submissive partners punishing HoHs, and getting your husband to understand how serious you are about the lifestyle in the 47th edition of Mailbag Monday.
June 4 - An Interview With a Spencer Plan/Cooperative Domestic Discipline Couple - Robert and Jade were gracious enough to answer a few questions about their unique style of domestic discipline.  Their fascinating interview can be found by clicking this link.
June 7 - {NEW DOWNLOAD} The Spanking Issues Podcast - We cover a number of issues couples run into when spanking and we offer our recommendations on how to overcome them in the latest free downloadable podcast.
June 9 - Mailbag Monday: Week 48 - The three questions answered in this edition of Mailbag Monday pertain to timed spankings, changing roles in domestic discipline, and talking about domestic discipline "in real life."
June 13 - Five Things Friday: The Busy Summer Edition - Chelsea gives all the dads out there a special Father's Day shout out, she talks about our Vegas vacation, and she takes a little quiz that gives you a glimpse into her every day life in this edition of Five Things.
June 16 - Mailbag Monday: Week 49 - We answer three very good questions about making big decisions together with your partner, so-called "domestic discipline" blogs in blogland, and some "pet peeve" rules in our own marriage.
June 18 - When to Stop Spanking - Finding the right balance between a spanking that is too light and a spanking that is too excessive can be a challenge.  We discuss this subject and offer our thoughts on various cues that indicate when the spanking has served its purpose.
June 21 - Saturday Stories: "What a Difference a Year Makes" - Guest writer Meredith is back for a fourth time -- yes, a fourth time! -- to update us on her progress in domestic discipline.  She talks about challenges she has faced, as well as how her blog has made her some wonderful new friends.
June 23 - Mailbag Monday: Week 50 - In the 50th edition of Mailbag Monday, we answer questions about fairness with punishments, pre-boot camp preparations, and when to advance to the next level of punishment spankings.
June 27 -  Five Things Friday: The Summer Changes Edition - Chelsea shares a website that helps with the line writing punishment, she talks about the upcoming LDD Network, and she recaps the LDD Retreat, which included an engagement!
That does it for the month of June!  We told you there was a lot to cover.  :)  We hope you enjoyed all the new content, and we look forward to more great things in July!  Come along and join us, won't you?

Monthly Recap: May 2014

Before we get into the monthly recap, we wanted to let everyone know that today is the first day of the Spanking A-Z Blog Challenge. We decided to spin the Spanking A-Z Blog Challenge up a little bit, and post personal stories/entries throughout the month of June. We'll still be following our regular posting schedule as well, but if you'd like to check out the first of the A-Z Blog Challenge posts, for the Letter A, you can do so by clicking here
We love the month of May.  Why?  There are a few reasons.  One, it's spring time in the United States and the weather is always gorgeous this time of year.  Two, May is Chelsea's birthday month.  Happy birthday Chelsea!  Three, Mother's Day is celebrated in May (in the United States).  Four, we get a long Memorial Day weekend in May.  May is just a great month to go out and enjoy the great weather and the season with loved ones. :)
Learning Domestic Discipline also had an eventful May.  The Products Site got a brand new design!  It took a little longer than expected, but the new Products Site is up and running and we hope you enjoy the new look.  If you haven't seen it yet, stop on by and take a look!  We also added a lot of new content to the LDD blog.  If you missed any of it, here's a recap:

May 2 - Five Things Friday: Chelsea's Birthday Edition - I (Clint) take over this edition of Five Things.  I talk about a mistake I made in our marriage, Chelsea's birthday, and I also share a link to a domestic discipline blog post that will make you smile. :)
May 5 - Mailbag Monday: Week 43 - We answer questions about stress relief spankings, feeling as though you're being treated like a child by your HoH, and approaching your HoH with a concern in the 43rd edition of Mailbag Monday.
May 7 - The Brand New Products Site! - Chelsea spent weeks building a brand new Products Site, and we're pleased to announce that it's up and running!  Stop on by to check out the new design!  You can download a few free products while you're there, too.
May 12 - Mailbag Monday: Week 44 - When is a good time to mention domestic discipline to a potential partner?  Where can I meet a DD partner?  What do you do when a family member knows you practice DD?  We offer our answers to this trio of reader submitted questions.
May 16 - Five Things Friday: Rediscovering Us Edition - Chelsea returns to the Five Things column to tell you about our mini boot camp experience and our upcoming move.  She shares a couple of her favorite recipes, too.
May 19 - Mailbag Monday: Week 45 - We offer our thoughts on a unique distance discipline situation, and we talk about Chelsea's car related offenses in the 45th Mailbag Monday article.  We also talk about some eBooks that are in the works.
May 21 - Non-Consensual Consent in a Domestic Discipline Relationship - What is non-consensual consent and why is it so important to the success of the domestic discipline lifestyle?  We answer these questions and more in this post.
May 24 - Saturday Stories: "Never Too Late For Submission in Marriage" - Guest writer Jen tells us how doing simple acts of submission made her husband so much happier, and thus her marriage happier.
May 26 - Mailbag Monday (Special Edition): Week 46 - In this special Memorial Day edition of Mailbag Monday, we answer three personal questions that pertain to how we practice domestic discipline in our own marriage.
May 30 - Five Things Friday: The LDD Meet Ups Edition - We've got several LDD Meet Ups scheduled!  Is one of them near you?  We're also going to see Chelsea's favorite band in concert, and we share a Buzzfeed article that you have to see to believe in the latest Five Things Friday post.
Another month is in the books!  We hope you enjoy(ed) all the new content this month.  We're looking forward to plenty of new content in June as well.  We invite you to come along for the ride!  See you this June. :)

April 23 - The Three Strike Approach - In a (somewhat) rare personal article, I (Clint) tell you about how my wife and I corrected a difficult cussing habit using a unique domestic discipline approach to the punishments.  It worked great for us.  Would it work great for you, too?
April 26 - Saturday Stories: "Cooperative Domestic Discipline: An Alternative Approach" - Guest writer 'Homebody' offers insight into a unique domestic discipline dynamic that we hope teaches you as much as it taught us.  It's a truly fascinating article, and well written to boot.

Monthly Recap: February 2014 (Plus a Brand New Free Download!)

February 2014 was a great month for Learning Domestic Discipline.  We had a Valentine's Day promotion, a brand new downloadable podcast, a new downloadable packet, and a number of articles that hopefully helped (and will continue to help) a few domestic discipline couples out there.  Given that this is our first monthly recap of the year, we have a few special things to include in it as well.
The first things we want to include are the January 2014 articles.  We had our baby right at the end of January, so we weren't able to write a January 2014 recap.  We'll make up for that in this monthly recap.  The second thing we want to include is a brand new download!  You'll see it at the end of this post.  And third, we want to make one slight modification to our 2014 posting schedule.
Originally we were going to do a Mailbag Monday article every other week as part of our new 2014 posting schedule.  On second thought, we want to do one every week instead.  It's perhaps our most popular column, and those submitting questions shouldn't have to wait weeks to have them answered.  We're also going to post Mailbag Monday articles on United States holidays that happen to fall on a Monday.  So, look for Mailbag Monday articles every Monday going forward, starting tomorrow. :)
Alright, let's get the recap going, shall we?  Here's a recap of the January and February articles here at Learning Domestic Discipline:
January 4th -- Transforming Your Relationship: A Comprehensive Look Into the Domestic Discipline Lifestyle - We've released our brand new eBook!  We're really excited about it and this post tells you all about it.  Check it out!
January 8th -- New Year's Resolutions 2014: Domestic Discipline Style - We outline our New Year's Resolutions for 2014 (as they relate to domestic discipline) and challenge you with a few as well.  Are you up for them?
January 12th -- Random Updates From Learning Domestic Discipline - This brief post touches on a few things going on in our lives, and and includes a couple of LDD updates.
January 15th -- Why Use Spanking Implements? - I (Clint) outline six reasons couples choose to use spanking implements when conducting a punishment spanking in a domestic discipline relationship.  Do you have other reasons to add in the comments?
January 18th -- Presenting the Learning Domestic Discipline Couples Challenge Packet! - All 12 LDD Couples Challenges are now in one convenient spot.  Download your free copy today and take the 12-month challenge!
January 30th -- Our Baby Boy Has Arrived! - He's here, he's here, HE'S HERE!  We're proud parents again, and we're so excited that our second baby boy is healthy and doing well.  He's so cute (as the picture in this post illustrates)! :)
February 3rd -- Mailbag Monday: Week 34 - Do spankings always need to be done bare bottomed?  How do you respectfully tell your HoH their lecturing is lacking?  How are we (Clint and Chelsea) going to explain the domestic discipline dynamic to our kids?  We answer these questions in the latest round of Mailbag Monday questions.
February 7th -- Five Things Friday: Love Is In The Air Edition - Both of us contribute to this Five Things post!  I talk about not spanking in a while, Chelsea gives you a new DD novel to read, and we celebrate an anniversary!
February 12th -- Why Spanking is a Part of a Domestic Discipline Relationship - Why do people include spanking in their relationships?  We outline several reasons why for anyone looking into the lifestyle, or anyone that may be curious about the spanking aspect of it.
February 15th -- A Brand New Podcast: Types of Spankings - We discuss seven - count them - SEVEN different types of spankings in our latest free downloadable podcast.  Give it a listen and let us know what you think!
February 21st -- Five Things Friday: The "We Survived!" Edition - A lot of things have been going on in our personal lives, and as the title suggests, we've survived the first two months of 2014.  Read all about what has been happening with us in this post.
February 26th -- Abuse of Power in Domestic Discipline - A recent concern of ours prompted this article.  We talk about why it's so important that a head of the household refrain from abusing their power in a domestic discipline relationship.
Whew!  That was a lot to cover!  If you happened to miss anything over the course of the past two months, hopefully this little recap gets you all up to speed. :)
And, as promised, we're offering a brand new free download!  The 2013 Saturday Stories Packet is now available to download for free from the Learning Domestic Discipline Download site. The packet contains over 15 guest posts on a variety of domestic discipline topics including beginning domestic discipline, domestic discipline boot camp, and more. CLICK HERE to download your copy!
We want to take this opportunity to, once again, thank you for being patient with us as we adjust our lives (and our schedules) to the new baby.  We also want to thank those of you who have expressed their congratulations and support.  It truly means so much to us.
Thanks for being a part of Learning Domestic Discipline this February!  We hope to see you in March (and beyond) as we continue to bring you new domestic discipline content.  See you then!

What's New at Learning Domestic Discipline for 2014

2014 is finally here! It's hard to believe how quickly 2013 flew by, but we're looking forward to a great year and we hope you're as excited as we are about all the new changes to Learning Domestic Discipline that you can see both now, and as the year progresses. We have a lot of fun projects in store for this year, and we're looking forward to making this year the best one yet for Learning Domestic Discipline.

So, what is new to kick off the month? Well, let us show you.

Here's an overview of the new stuff on the site, and a sneak peek of what's to come:
  • By now you have probably noticed that the blog looks a little bit different. We re-did the blog, in honor of 2014, with a new design and layout that we think/hope is easier to navigate.  It also gives us more space to include all of our 2014 projects as they roll out.  We may still make a few minor changes here and there, but for the most part the new re-design is complete.  We're anxious to hear what you think!
  • Throughout the month of December we have been working hard on a new feature called The Learning Domestic Discipline Directory.  This feature is aimed to make finding information on domestic discipline significantly easier for readers.  It will archive every one of our posts (trust us, there's a lot) making them easier to find, and the will be broken down by more specific categories.  The directory is almost complete (we're putting the final touches on it this weekend!) and should launch any day now.  We'll update this post, and the blog, when it launches!
  • We made some major changes to the Learning Domestic Discipline Posting Schedule for 2014.  We know how much our readers appreciate the LDD downloads, eBooks, podcasts, and more.  So, we will be incorporating many more of those (two a month!!) into our schedule this year, and we'll be moving a few other things around.  Don't worry, all of our series (such as Mailbag Monday, Five Things Friday, and Saturday Stories) will still be included, they're just on a different schedule.  We'll also be cutting the weekly recaps down to one large monthly recap in an effort to give us more time to focus on some of the big projects we're working on for the year. The new posting schedule will begin on Monday January 6th.  Click here to review it and make sure you're up to date.
  • Since we'll be including many more downloads into our schedule this year, we will also be doing more Frequently Asked Questions Podcasts as a result.  We've done one so far (and it was a big hit!) so we'd love to incorporate several more into the year's schedule, but we need your help to make that happen.  So, from now on, you can submit questions for either Mailbag Monday (the same way as before) or to be answered on our next FAQ Podcast.
  • On the right hand side of the blog (on the new website) you may have noticed a new progress bar feature.  This will allow you to stay up to date with what we're currently working on (or, one of many things we're currently working on) and see the progress of that specific project.  We're planning several major projects this year, so we hope that this will make it easier for readers to see what is coming next, and approximately when they can expect it to be completed.
And finally, we're starting 2014 off with a bang, and with something that has been in the works for what seems like forever.  It's our brand new eBook!  Here's an overview of the new eBook:

We're pleased and thrilled to announce that our brand new eBook, Transforming Your Relationship: A Comprehensive Look Into the Domestic Discipline Lifestyle, is now available exclusively through!
Transforming Your Relationship: A Comprehensive Look Into the Domestic Discipline Lifestyle is tailor made for those interested in learning more about, as well as those just beginning, the domestic discipline lifestyle.  Numerous domestic discipline dynamics and punishments within the lifestyle are defined, detailed, outlined, broken down, and elaborated on in simple terms.  Detailed explanations and relatable examples are given throughout the book to help explain and clarify why the domestic discipline dynamic has become an increasingly popular arrangement adopted by committed couples.

After reading this book, you'll understand what the domestic discipline lifestyle is, how the dynamics of it work, and how it is designed to enhance virtually any committed couple's relationship.  You'll understand what living the lifestyle is all about, what it requires of both partners in the relationship, and why so many are choosing to live this way.  All your questions about domestic discipline will be answered, and you'll even get some helpful tips along the way, too!
Transforming Your Relationship: A Comprehensive Look Into the Domestic Discipline Lifestyle is approximately 150 pages (70,000 words) in length and is now available through the Learning Domestic Discipline Products Site.
We're excited to get 2014 started!  Thank you for your continued readership and support of Learning Domestic Discipline.  Remember, none of this is possible without you, and we appreciate you all so very much.  Here's to great things to come in 2014!

Weekly Recap: December 9th - 15th

It was a rare week for Learning Domestic Discipline.  Why?  Well, instead of three new articles this week, we posted four!  We added a rare Friday post on a Saturday Stories week.  Needless to say there's a lot to get you all caught up on, so let's get to it!

Here's the latest content added to Learning Domestic Discipline:

Mailbag Monday: Week 31 - We talk about de-sexualizing spankings, we give our advice to single people wanting domestic discipline, and we talk about how we manage our time with all the hectic things going on in our lives in this week's round of Mailbag Monday questions.

What the Domestic Discipline Lifestyle Has Taught Me: Part II - Last week Chelsea told you all about the things she has learned from living the domestic discipline lifestyle for so many years.  This week it's my (Clint's) turn to tell you all about what I have learned from practicing domestic discipline.  (HINT: I've learned a LOT.)
Domestic Discipline Spanking Round Table Discussion - Spanking romance author Corinne Alexander hosted a Spanking Round Table Discussion this past week, and we were honored and thrilled to be a part of it.  We answered six personal questions that cover everything from the greatest challenges for us in domestic discipline to what appeals to us most about the lifestyle.  Get comfy because there's a lot of info in this article!

Saturday Stories: "Still Going Strong After 41 Years" - Our guest writer this week is one with over four decades of experience in the lifestyle.  Four decades!  Wow!  That's incredibly...well...incredible.  He tells us how it all started and how he and his wife have grown together from practicing domestic discipline for so many years.

  • We're working like crazy to get the new eBook released, as well as the new LDD Directory up and running, before the end of the year.  We're not going to rush them though, and the holidays are rapidly approaching, and we have a baby coming soon, so it's taking some time.  We appreciate you all being so patient.  Both projects are close to completion.  Promise.
Another week in the books!  Without many weeks left in 2013, the year is quickly coming to a close.  It has gone by fast, but we're looking forward to what 2014 has in store.  We hope you'll join us in the journey.  See you next week, friends. :)

Weekly Recap: December 2nd - 8th

There's just a shade over three weeks left in 2013!  What a year it has been.  There's still a lot we want to do before this year comes to a close, but it's closing so quickly!  We're working hard to finish up a couple of projects and it shouldn't be too much longer until their launched.  In the meantime, the LDD blog has been staying on schedule with fresh new content for readers to enjoy.

Let's take a look back at the past seven days here at Learning Domestic Discipline if you happened to miss any of it.

Mailbag Monday: Week 30 - We answer questions about the submissive partner testing rules/boundaries, how our spankings have evolved in our own marriage, and we direct readers to a few articles that help in bringing this lifestyle up to the one you love in this week's edition of Mailbag Monday.

What the Domestic Discipline Lifestyle Has Taught Me - Chelsea outlines and elaborates on eight key things that living the domestic discipline lifestyle has taught her.  Are they similar to what you have learned?  What has domestic discipline taught you?

Five Things Friday: December Kickoff Edition - There's a new box set of domestic discipline romance novels available, there's a new Yahoo group for the CDD'ers, and there's reason to spoil Chelsea with a BIG reward.  Now she's given herself a new challenge, and oohhhh boy is it a tough one.  Read all about these things in the latest edition of Five Things.

  • December's Couples Challenge will get all of us in the holiday spirit.  It's all about giving to the less fortunate.  Are you taking the challenge this holiday season?
  • We're almost finished editing and formatting the new eBook!  It won't be too much longer now...
That puts a nice little bow on another week at LDD.  We'll see you tomorrow with three more Mailbag Monday questions!  Enjoy your upcoming week. :)

Weekly Recap: November 25th - December 1st

It was a short week for Learning Domestic Discipline this week. We took majority of the week off to spend time with family, eat lots of turkey, get some Christmas shopping done, and enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday. But, that didn't stop us from answering a few great Mailbag Monday questions or reflecting on a few of the many things that we are thankful for this holiday season. Take a look below at what you may have missed this week.

Mailbag Monday Week 29We kicked off the week, like usual, with Mailbag Monday where we answered three reader-submitted questions about a pretty wide mix of domestic discipline topics. Among this weeks questions were how to handle domestic discipline when one party is injured or ill, how to build up your partners self esteem and we discussed pain tolerances and the ever popular question of "how much should a spanking hurt?".

Happy Thanksgiving 2013With it being a holiday week, we figured that was a great time to take a break from the usual domestic discipline related Wednesday posts and get a little more personal than we usually do. With it being Thanksgiving, we listed several things that we are each thankful for this week. Some of the things may sound cliche and obvious (family, our health, etc.) and then others are a little bit more off the wall (like the world famous Krispy Kreme donuts that we somehow can't live without). We also made sure to thank you- the readers of Learning Domestic Discipline because we are so grateful and appreciative of your support. Once again, thank you!

We skipped the Saturday Story feature this week, due to the holiday, however stay tuned for a brand new Saturday Story coming in two weeks!
