Hi Clint - Am now registered. :) Looking forward to the new site!
Blessings,
Cat
could not log in as a guest. why not? everywhere else allows it unless they collect IP addresses and need the email first. is this going to be used to sell something? ever?
Looks Great! all signed up!
Anonymous (November 10th 2012 6:45PM): The reason that we aren't allowing guests to view the forums, without being signed up, is because we didn't think our members (many of whom practice DD very privately and anonymously) would want their posts, advice, introductions, etc. read by anyone out there on the internet. I actually have yet to find any DD forums that allow guest signups.
No, it isn't going to be used to sell anything (ever).
Hope this answered your questions.

Great idea! Can't wait to see how everything gets moving alone with the forum.

Hello Clint and Chelsea,
How long does it take to get the validation email, mine doesn't seem to be going through? Thanks for your help.
Hi Anonymous (November 10th 2012 8:06 PM): It can take upwards of 15 minutes, although in most cases it is almost instantly.
If it's been longer than that, you have a few different options.
The first is you can go back to the forums homepage: http://www.learningdd.com/forum and in the upper left hand corner it should say "Welcome Guest. Please login or register. Did you miss your activation email?"
Click the button that says "did you miss your activation email?" and then follow the instructions to have it resent.
If that still does not work, you can re-register using a different email OR email me (knowingyourroles@gmail.com) and I can manually register you.
Hope this helps!

(anon from earlier) You did help Chelsea, ty. But, are you able to see IP addresses when we use our email? And since no guests allowed, does it mean its ok to join with real names instead of nicknames like here and other forums?
It worked that time! Thanks Chelsea

Yes, you can absolutely join with whatever name you wish (aliases, nicknames, real names, etc.)
Are there other DD forums that allow guests to view the forums without registering? Because I really don't see how any member would be comfortable with that.
I'm not sure about the IP address question. I haven't looked into that far enough (the forums are brand new...) but to my knowledge it does not show the users full IP address publicly and the only way we know a users location is if they specify it, themselves, in their profile.
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
-Chelsea
Tamara- You're welcome, I'm glad that it worked for you that time. If you need anything else, please don't hesitate to ask.
I look forward to seeing you in the forums!

Thanks Chelsea! Your help has inspired me more than you know. I have gone from dipping a toe in the water to jumping in with both feet. I have joined the LDD network, and started my own blog, which does mention how much you and your husband have helped me and mine. Thanks again to both of you for you support through a difficult transition.

Will lurkers still have access to the great articles and be able to ask questions? Much appreciate you all...
Hi TL,
I responded to your post in the forum, but wanted to here as well. Thank you so much for all your kind words. I'm glad that my husband and I have helped you, and I'm excited to hear that you have started your own blog! I'm looking forward to reading it- I love the title. :)
Looking forward to getting to know you.

Anonymous (November 11 8:23 AM) - Yes, the new site will work exactly like our blogs in the sense that the information/articles will be available for anyone to read, and anyone to comment on.
Hope this helps.
-Chelsea
I'm all signed up too :)
@Cat - Excellent! See you in the forums. :)
@Anonymous (November 10th 6:45 PM) - My wife gave you the answers to your questions. If this is something you're concerned about, then I'd recommend you not sign up. We certainly don't want anyone to feel uncomfortable in the forums.
@His First Mate - Wonderful, HFM! See you in the forums!
@Emi Jones - Thank you. My wife spent countless hours putting together these forums. We're so excited for their launch!
@Caitlin - Great! We're looking forward to seeing you in the forums. :)
All the best to each of you.
