Comforting After Punishment

Stockholm Syndrome - A Primer (That's what you should have called this post).

Stockholm syndrome can be seen as a form of traumatic bonding, which does not necessarily require a hostage scenario, but which describes “strong emotional ties that develop between two persons where one person intermittently harasses, beats, threatens, abuses, or intimidates the other." One commonly used hypothesis to explain the effect of Stockholm syndrome is based on Freudian theory. It suggests that the bonding is the individual’s response to trauma in becoming a victim. Identifying with the aggressor is one way that the ego defends itself. When a victim believes the same values as the aggressor, they no longer become a threat.

Fits you guys perfectly.

@Anonymous (April 4th 7:00 PM) - I prefer "Comforting After Punishment", which is why I chose to name this post that. After taking your suggestion into consideration, I will respectfully decline to change the title of this post to your suggested name, but I do appreciate the suggestion regardless.

Thank you for reading the post and taking the time to comment! All the best to you.

@Anonymous (April 4th 7:05 PM) - Very informative comment, thank you. We've all learned something from your comment, which is what Learning Domestic Discipline is all about - learning.

Thank you for reading and taking the time to share your knowledge of Stockholm Syndrome - something you obviously know a lot about - with the readers. I'll respectfully agree to disagree that it fits us perfectly, but I do appreciate you taking the time to share your opinion.

I wish you all the best in all that you do. Enjoy the rest of your week.

I am single but would like to meet someone who offered this lifestyle as I think discipline like this makes for better relationships and strenghtens society. The comforting after is an assurance from the head of house that love is central to the relationship and punishment was only to improve.
